Dr Edgar Paltzer is an attorney-at-law at his own practice, Paltzer Private Clients. Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Dr Paltzer established his practice in 2013, having previously worked in Attorneys-at-Law across America and Switzerland.  

Dr Paltzer studied at the University of Zurich Law School, gaining his bachelor’s degree in law in 1980, after which he took a position at the District Court of Zurich (1981-1983) and later at the Geneva-based Attorneys-at-Law, Lenz & Staehelin (1983-1985).  

Dr Paltzer gained an LL.M. master’s degree from New York University School of Law in 1987, remaining in the country to work at White & Case, an Attorneys-at-Law based in New York. In 1989, Dr Paltzer received a Juris Doctoris degree in tax law, and in the same year he returned to Switzerland, taking a position with CMS von Erlach Henrici, Attorneys-at-Law. In 1998, Dr Paltzer began working for a Zurich-based Attorneys-at-Law, leaving in 2013 in order to establish his own Attorneys-at-Law practice, Paltzer Private Clients.  

In his practice, Dr Paltzer uses his vast experience and his broad range of expertise to assist his clients in legal matters. The Zurich-based practice focuses on coaching in legal matters, offering a valued and trusted second opinion on legal advice received from law firms, banks and family offices.  

Further areas of expertise in Dr Paltzer’s practice include strategic negotiation support in legal disputes; estate management, division of estate and executorship; wealth structuring; estate planning, such as testaments, prenuptial agreements and inheritance; succession planning for family establishments; residence planning; philanthropy and art law; and the structuring and maintenance of trusts and foundations.
